Fir Tip Tea & Pine Needle Tea

An antioxidant and vitamin C rich tea for winter or all year round.

Equipment

  • Stovetop espresso maker, espresso machine or a pot

Ingredients
  

  • 2-3 sprigs fresh picked fir tips or pine needles
  • 2-4 cups filtered water

Instructions
 

  • Collect fresh fir tips or pine needles (any can be used but the fresh green new growth tastes the best)
  • Press them into a stovetop espresso maker as you would coffee grounds and heat until brewed. (My 9 cup size takes 16-17 minutes).
  • Simmer in water for 25+ minutes and strain.
  • Drink it straight or with a bit of raw honey.

Notes

Alternatively you can do this method with dandelions, fennel seeds or star anise.
